More likely than not you will have spotted the little icons which are found in Wii games as they are in every other video game. These icons are important as they play a big part of how you conduct yourself in the game.  Your personal settings are kept here along with the scores of the game and some of the icons are used in order to select a character for the player as determined by the makers of the game.

You will be pleased to know that Nintendo went one step further with their design of Wii games and came up with a “Mii Channel” pronounced “me” and so entitled because it deals with individual players concepts of the game and affords them the luxury of personalizing their own characters. 

Mii can be described as a “digital avatar” and is selected by the player to represent him or her during the game.  It is unique and provides the gamer with the opportunity of bringing a little of their own personality to the game.  Each console can store up to one hundred Miis with the remote holding around ten.  The Miis can be exchanged by the use of the “WiiConnect24” service, although editing can only take place on the original console.
 
This particular gaming system lets you personalize your Mii for various games which means even more excitement for those playing and gives freedom as far as creativity is concerned.  It is up to you whether or not you use a created trademark every time you play, or just on certain games. 

You will be able to learn quite a lot about the unique personality of the other players by simply paying close attention to the Mii they are using.  After a while you will be able to spot the Mii of others and you will know exactly who is joining in the game with you.  Don't worry if this is all a little new to you, it is easy to set up your Mii.  All you have to do is go to the “Mii Channel" icon and you will have the option to make your Mii personal to you.

Quite a few gamers struggle getting used to this in the beginning as in the past the things you see on the screen have all been decided by the companies making the consoles.  However, as soon as you do get used to it you would not settle for anything less and you will discover why calling the icons Mii was a very good move.  The reason why so many people adore this gaming console is the fact that it is made so much more personal by the Mii.  They feel as if the whole thing has been designed with them in mind, instead of simply feeling like a player of the game. 

The Wii console can be used to connect to the Internet and many players use their Mii as an email signature.  I am sure you will agree that giving the icons the personal touch was a pretty smart idea and it is without doubt partly responsible for the huge popularity of the Wii.
